I spoke with Makoto Suekuni, and he said he will attend, if the Singapore Othello Committee allows him to. But he moved there earlier in July, so perhaps it is an iffy case.

Hi Ben

Some info about All Japan. It would be nice if you could put it

on Othello Blog.

The 34th All Japan Championship was held in Akihabara, Tokyo on

July 16. 64 players who had qualified in regionals played in

the Open Division. The top eight were:

1. Tetsuya Nakajima 6-0

2. Tsukasa Imaoka 5-1

3. Tamaki Miyaoka 5-1

4. Hiroki Nakamori 5-1

5. Bintatsu Noda 5-1

6. Osamu Kamemoto 5-1

7. Takeshi Murakami 5-1

8. Hiroshi Goto 4-2

Nakajima beat Tamenori and Miyaoka. Really impressive

performance to win both Meijin and All Japan. He was promoted

to an 8th-dan player. Imaoka will play in the WOC. Murakami

lost to Miyaoka. Tamenori lost to Nakajima and Noda. Suekuni

now lives in Singapore and did not play.
